National Transport Plan Consultation

Gower AM Edwina Hart has welcomed the National Transport Plan, the Welsh Assembly Government’s first comprehensive plan for delivering an integrated transport system. The National Transport Plan was presented for consultation today (Wednesday 15 July) by Deputy First Minister, Ieuan Wyn Jones AM.

Edwina Hart AM said:

‘I was pleased to note that the proposals for the east- west corridor rail network included a commitment to work with Network Rail to redouble the railway line between Gowerton and Loughor. The five-mile singe track section between Gowerton Loughor is a major pinch-point, constraining timetabling and restricting any potential growth of passenger services.’
