Parkmill Community Project Congratulated on Funding Boost
Gower Labour AM Edwina Hart has congratulated a Gower community project. The Barham Chapel Community Centre in Parkmill has been awarded a £100,000 funding boost from the Labour-led Welsh Assembly Government.
The project is one of 50 community projects across Wales to share in more than £5.5 million of funding from the Welsh Assembly Government’s Community Facilities and Activities Programme grant.
The scheme supports the creation of new facilities and services and promotes the regeneration of communities.
Edwina Hart AM said:
“I am delighted that the Barham Chapel Community Centre bid for funds has been successful. The funding is required to assist with the purchase of the Chapel building and to pay for building refurbishment and improve disabled access.”
She added:
“Many local people use the building for a variety of functions and it also houses a small post office. The Chapel Centre provides an important focal point for the Parkimill community. I congratulate all concerned with the successful bid.”
