Gower AM Welcomes Mynydd y Gwair Decision

Gower AM Edwina Hart has welcomed the decision by Jane Davidson AM, Minister for Environment, Sustainability and Housing, to dismiss the appeal by RWE Npower Renewables Ltd and refuse planning permission for the erection of 19 wind turbines at Mynydd y Gwair.

Edwina Hart said:-

“I am delighted at the decision. Although Mynydd y Gwair is outside the AONB this area includes some spectacular and much loved landscapes. The siting of the turbines together with the associated ancillary work to access the site would have had a very damaging impact on the natural environment.”

She added:

“I applaud all those who have acted to protect Mynydd y Gwair for their hard work and dedication.”
